Another newun!!
Hello all,
I've been lurking for a while and I thought I'd finally introduce myself. I've just bought a c90, mid 80's, that I'm hoping to get back on the road. It needs a small amount of work (fingers crossed) that shouldn't be too much hassle. I'd like to strip it back to the frame and rebuild it, but as it will be my only means of transport I'm going to hold off and hopefully when funds allow pick up an early 70's model that I can really tinker with. I've really enjoyed riding it round a very small bit of land I've got, I worked out the other day it's been 18years since I last rode one!! It handles my ample frame suprisingly well (all 6'5" 22stone of me) I was about half that last time I sat on one lol I've definitely got the bug and to be honest I blame Alien Gravy and Newtsalad, that's my story and I'm sticking to it LOL
Anyway I've learnt lots already from the forum and I hope to learn alot more. Here's to future bimbles

Hi Crunch and welcome to the Club
Ag and Newt probably get the blame for plenty of things, they are very naughty people. Personally I blame the Cub, the little bike is very morish.
Have fun here

I spose i can't blame them really, it is a VERY morish little machine!! Just sounds better for when I make excuses to my wife, though saying that she wants to get one now.

LOL I heard about the replacement shocks, I do bounce around a little over the bumps, I'm sure I managed to get myself airborne over a few bumps on the farmers track. I will definately invest when I've got the finances sorted. PJ I am a very lucky man, I think she finds them 'endearing', which is very handy indeed.wightegi wrote:Hi crunch90 you will have a lot of fun here one thing is the rear shocks could be a bit soft, fuzz on here sells a perfect set ideal if you are more than 10 stone soaking wet.... and PJ just tell the missus you have a ducati..............................monster that should do it

Plus when it costs us a small fortune to run a car these days, it sort of makes sense.crunch90 wrote:wightegi wrote:Hi crunch90 you will have a lot of fun here one thing is the rear shocks could be a bit soft, fuzz on here sells a perfect set ideal if you are more than 10 stone soaking wet.... and PJ just tell the missus you have a ducati..............................monster that should do it

Re: Another newun!!
At 22 stone, a pair of CG125 shocks might be a good idea. Common secondhand on ebay or from breakers. Decent damping but much stiffer springs than Cub ones. I've had them on mine a few years, I think I paid a tenner the pair.

Did you have to do anything "special" to get them to fit??Boo wrote:At 22 stone, a pair of CG125 shocks might be a good idea. Common secondhand on ebay or from breakers.
