the shocks look standard ,thats ok tho, regarding the oil, when you fill it with new oil check the level using the dipstick on the filler cap, get the bike onto a level surface and put the dipstick fully into the hole but DONT DO IT UP just put it in the filler hole fully ,then remove it and have a look at the level on the end
if the existing oils really dirty like mine was , put cheap new oil in , run the bike on that for a few miles then drain it out &replace it with new good stuff

The recommended oil change interval is a mere 500 miles. I like a lot of folks use Silkolene Super 4, but many folks use cheap car oil as has been stated- the cheap stuff tends to be free of the anti-friction additives designed for dry clutch motors. Put that in and your clutch will slip.
Fully synthetic is aso a waste of money- that will also likely cause clutch slip, andmuch of it will blow past your rings.
The Silkolene stuff is expensive, the cheap stuff from Wilko's (for example) is much kinder on the wallet. Boo loves the stuff, and seems to get good results with it.

500 miles , I like to get atleast 1500. The fact it's had over a sump worths of new oil go through it in that time gives me peace of mind. OK it's still dirty but the oil aint broke down like old oil sat in that long would be. The Innova gets the cheapest Silkolene super 4 and the C70 cheapest mineral bike oil. Think it costs £3.12 a litre.

I've always thought that 500 mile oil changes are a pain in the arse, but I'm sure Mr. Honda knows what he's talking about.
It's fairly academic for me, as I usually blow engines up before they do that many miles anyway!

Welcome to the Club Cub looks tidy, well done.
That's what I do and what I use.CeeGee wrote:The recommended oil change interval is a mere 500 miles. I like a lot of folks use Silkolene Super 4,
I agree. There are some good reasons for doing it cold.wightegi wrote: Change the oil as soon as you get the bike home dont even start it (cold oil ) let it drain well .
Re: Buying my C90
Always change mine approx 1,500 miles & its still clear when it comes out.
On checking the official Honda workshop manual, the INITIAL (1st) oil change IS 500 miles & thereafter 1,500 !!!!
Thought it seemed excessive ?
