Hi welcome along, my adventure started 50 years ago with a C50m I now have C90 and a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.
As you have found photos need to be hosted elsewhere so I removed your `sand box` one ;)

Hi and welcome,
That’s a superb Cub you have there.
Screen, fairing and Rickman top box!
Very nice 👍😀.

I don’t mean to pick fault, but I’m not sure that the black and silver number plate is legal on a 1989 bike. I was under the impression about 1973 was the cut off date……. then after the standard yellow rear ones……. but I’m not sure????? Need to find out. Forgive me if that’s just a ‘show plate’.

Anyway, surperb cub, enjoy,
Cheers Andy.

The cut off date for Black/Silver is now 1st of January 1980 provided the vehicle has been registered as Historic vehicle class.
That's according to Heritage car insurance and a few other sites i have visited.
Very nice example by the way.

Thanks guys.

Yes, I spotted this on Footman James:

CAN I PUT BLACK AND SILVER NUMBER PLATES ON MY CLASSIC?

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency explained that in 2015 that vehicles manufactured more than 40 years ago were eligible to display the traditional black and silver number plates.

However, coming into effect from the 1st January 2021, there has now been a change and going forward, any vehicle constructed after 1 January 1980 are now ineligible to display the black and silver number plate despite being recorded in the DVLA’s historic tax class. Those vehicles with a construction date prior to 1 January 1980 will continue to be able to legally display black and silver number plates to avoid any undue costs of replacement.

That's my first job when I get it home; swap the plate.

That's in very good condition at a good price. You've done well though I'd be swopping the black box for a white one to match the legshields.
