Hello! Optimistic restorer.

Post by Johnno1970 » Sun Feb 12, 2023 8:16 pm

Hi all, new to the group. Thanks for the add!
I'm in the process of buying a bare frame, minus swingarm with the aim of building it back up to something that can be used again. I don't know yet what year the frame is as I'm yet to see it in person. Maybe someone can advise me on the year from the few pics I have.
Thanks,
John.

It could be anything from 1972 to 1982 if you put up the first 5 bits of the VIN number I may be able to get a nearer date.
Also, have a look at Boo`s guide here ttps://www.c90club.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1098

Thanks for the input. It'll be the weekend before I get my hands on it so I'll put up the VIN number then.

Ignition switch under the air filter
Vin plate riveted to the frame under the tank/seat
Chromed covers over the shock mounts (makes it a C90)
C90 ZZ or possibly Z2 without a doubt so 1977 onwards

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if silicon rectifiers (as seen above) were fitted to UK c90s before the z2/zz range?

Does this appear to be the same model frame? It has forks, engine, swing arm and bits and pieces

, so might be worth my while putting in a bid for this too.
