Post by Baza1974 » Wed Oct 13, 2021 10:09 am

Hi all I’m Baza
Just found this very useful looking place while trying to find info on an engine swap I’ve jus done for a friend,,,,
I’ve put a c90 12v engine in a 1970 c50 6v bike, now everything fits and bolts up ok but now I’ve come to the electrics part,,,
Could anyone give me info on how best to change the bike wiring from 6v to 12v ?
Thanks
Baza

Hi , you will need a pit bike ignition loom ,they are cheap but will enable you to fit a CDI and coil ,there is lots of information on here so put pit bike loom in the search box.

As wightegi suggests a pit bike loom is the easiest way
Something like this has all you need and more.
A bit of electrical knowledge will be required to merge into the original loom
And obviously all your lamps and Horn will need to be 12Volt units.

 Sad to say the search box isn't the best way to go on here as we allow threads to spiral out of all semblance to where they started off, and although it results in some astounding conversations, it often means the most valuable gems are hidden in the most unlikely threads!

Fortunately, Google is a bit more organised.

Search your query on Google, adding c90club.co.uk on the end. Likely you'll find what you need. ;) :D
