C90E engine

Post by bob.robins » Thu Oct 22, 2020 7:54 am

Hi all thank you for letting me join the forum
I have a problem lol I have bought my first engine
in bits wrong move. There are two things I need
help with please if someone can.
The first is what have I bought? it’s marked up as
A C90E but not like any other I have seen completely
Different I need a parts manual so I can understand
The workings and the year of the engine I think
it could be 1970.
It’s marked up C90E 5177304
Many Thanks
Bob

Hi Bob the engine you have is a 6 volt 90 from 67 to 77 so any manual that covers the era will do.

Haynes manual is OK'ish and was first written about the early models with later models dealt with as updates.

Far better are Honda's own Workshop Manuals which they grouped together linked models, these come up occasionally on eBay. There is a digitised copy on CD of a manual dated 1977 which looks good value for £8 (item 313127519621). Don't know anything about the quality or the vendor but looks like a good punt.

Wouldn't know about a parts book but all the exploded diagrams for everything (from the original microfiche I would think) are available on CMSNL and you can save and print them to your hearts content.

I recently scanned a Haynes (don't tell anyone) but it's a big file, probably a bit big to email but you'd only need part so send me a PM if you want any specific part. :D
