Hi,
I've had my cub about three days now. Is a 1978 c70 which hasnt been used since 1985, and 12000 miles on it. Technically its a barn find, but the previous owner had left it out in the rain for the last nine months.
I've not had it running yet as I'm still waiting for a new battery, plug, carb cleaner etc but the engine turns over fine so I dont foresee any huge problems. Rust over the rear mudguard was really bad so I've cut it off for a bobber look, the rest of it is surface so far so I'm going to protect the underside with hydrate 80 and clear coat acrylic the body to keep the original paint and patina (surface rust). Spokes are rust pitted too, so I'll clean them up, stop the rust with a product (not sure which yet) and clear coat.
The front mudguard will be changed to something a bit simpler with cleaner lines and I'll fit a new fairing.
Thats it for now, no doubt I'll have many questions over the coming weeks.
matt

Nice project ,rear sections are available ,the 70 does not need a battery to run Stick the year of the bike in your details and a rough location

Hi,
Thanks for the info. Will the generator provide enough spark from just kicking it over then? So I just leave the battery out?
I'll add the information you suggest, thanks!
