Hi from Southend on Sea. Been a biker on and off for 53 years and have had many different bikes. Just got a little C90 from my brother in law as his eyesight has now completely failed. It has stood in his dry shed since 2010 and started regularly until a couple of years ago. There is some rust to the rear wheel arch which I am working on.
My other bike is an NT700V Deauville. I have ridden it down to Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol a few times and been to the Jerez and Aragon MotoGPs. Going to Slovenia on it this year.

Welcome. Congratulations on being an owner of the most popular bikes in the world.
The humble C90 is the bike that puts a smile on your face when you ride it. It travels at a speed that allows you to really sight-see as you travel but is quite a work horse when it needs to be. You'll be surprised what you can carry on a Cub.
For those of us in the south, we have the Southern Softies meet in August. Camping, this year in the Isle of Wight, with a Saturday ride out around the island.

Welcome Mike

I'm at the top end of the county on the Suffolk border.

A few of us meet at Gt Bentley (Wednesday) when the season allows.

I quite often meet mates your way and will have a lunch at one of the seafront 'choke & puke' cafes if you are about.

Enjoy the cub & the wealth of knowledge herein

Welcome from Rochford.

Also been riding on and off for 53 years currently only on a C90. I looked at getting a Deauville for ages but ended up with a F800GT for touring.

As Harvey says Great Bentley is a good meet but since the BMW bit me hard I only trundle over to the Shepherd and Dog on a Saturday and up and down the seafront about once a week.

There's also a small group of us of a similar age who ride out on a Wednesday usually but won't be joining them until I can ride the BMW confidently. We also do Andrews Field at Stebbing on a Thursday.

You don't say what year C90 it is, mine are 12v square lampers (and a couple of Chinese copies). Sure we'll meet sometime.

If you know about the Shepherd and Dog meet you'll know why the pic is "wrong".

Hi All,

The C90 is a square h/lamp 2001. Currently in the garage with the back end all stripped out ready for rust curing. Too draughty to be out there today but hope to have it all fixed soon. Needs thorough recomissioning so a full inspection, service etc on the cards. Not had a C90 before. Did they suffer from crankcase condensation as there appears to be a film of water on the top of the oil when viewed through the filler hole. Could just be from standing for the last couple of years.Happy to receive any and all advice (what have I let myself in for now? lol).
I will try and get to some of the meets. Have a few trips lined up for this year, Namely Slovenia and Halkirk (not Falkirk) up in the high north of Scotland but these will be on the Deau.

Welcome from the other side of the Thames, I've had a Deauville and still got a couple of new red box lids for one in the garage.

Why not sell the lids on the Deauville forum? :?:

A warm welcome. This is a brilliant forum and you'll love the cub.

I used to have a Deauville. Good utility bike with the luggage and shaft drive but sold it after a year as I couldn't get on with the lack of power and the looks.
I also found the seat too wide. As a result my legs were splayed out and the footpegs were always in the way when I put my feet down. I even got the seat altered with Tony Archer but the problem remained.
The headlight was poor though a new Nightbreaker bulb was a huge difference.
I tried hard to like it but it had to go.

I tried one after my Pan 1100 but when I came back from the test ride sales guy said you didn't enjoy that did you. Asked how he knew & he said your not smiling.

It's the bike I always should have owned, ticks all the boxes but I never went back there.

Perhaps I should now??
