Haha, oh yesπŸ‘
Adjusted clutch, tappets and carb this evening and she's a lot sweeter now, the gears are where they should be!
More bits ordered, this time from wemoto.
I like to try different suppliers.
Will see the lady at cobra leathers in Swindon about a new seat cover, she does very good work, not sure wether to keep it original cream and black two tone or go blue and black to match the paint?
Does anyone know if the honda logos on the seat backs were screen printed or pieces stitched in etc? I know this one did have the logo on it but it's covered in a lot of gaffer tape and I want to leave it complete so she can measure it properly.
All the bestπŸ™‚

Regarding the seat, I would stick to the original colour. The logo was printed on. My thoughts are always to keep the bike as original as possible.

My local honda said they get their parts from David silver.

Basically they can't be arsed!

Maybe if I did go in with part numbers it may help, I have browsed the cmsl website, very good.

Oil was changed very recently and looks like new.

It was father, son owned from new, the son is now 81 and still rides a 36' velocette.

I looking for some replacement trim for the headset cover, does anyone have any or know if they are the same as later bikes 90's etc?

Off into the garage now for a few more adjustments πŸ‘
Is it the curved chrome trim you are after?

I have them if you want, I am assuming that the C90zz ones will fit.

So, after fettling since I got it I had my first longer run this afternoon.

Did about 28 miles out of Swindon, mix of back roads. From the more experienced on here of riding c70's would you say I should stop fettling and just keep up maintenance if it tops out at 45/46 on the flat, head down.
I'm a tad over 15stπŸ€ͺ

I'm not looking for performance just want to know if it's running to its best.

I haven't got a colourtune yet but will, and yet to check tickover properly (Digi tachometer) but it does ride, pull away, change gears fine etc

I'm presuming the sprockets are standard size, does any one know what they should be so I can check?

Cheers bungee.

Thanks very much for that, I'd found bits of that dotted on this forum, It's great you pointing me to it and more all in one place.

My point was, sort of, that I can't seem to find an 'official' top speed in standard trim.

Before I change sprockets (think standard is 14/39?) etc to gain a little more speed at lower revs it would be good to know if it's running at its best, given natural wear and tear, aging of the engine.

I guess you're saying that if the linked guide is followed well then whatever it goes at is this bikes top speed.

I'll go over it bit by bit as per the guide and others on here and see how it goes.

Very much enjoying playing with this fantastic little machineπŸ‘

Cheers bungee
