First post for a newbie here.
Picked up a 72 C70 the other day and got some bits delivered today.
Got mot exempt form, taxed it, free, and insured it £91 changed the plug, oiled up some cables and me and my boy pootled it up and down the drive👍

Hi and welcome . Just need to get out and do some miles on it now then . Cables may need changing if they are the ones fitted from new , only buy genuine ones from a Honda dealer though .

Hi and thanks for the welcome.
Helmet will be on later to go for a spin and get my brain around the gears! I'm going to keep it original so will get friendly with honda I'm sure.
Any recommendations for a good engine fettler in the Swindon area?
Cheers bungee

Caress the gears. Don't stamp on them. They're crunchy enough.

Well first ride completed, absolutely loved it🙂
My local honda have no spares for it so will go to David silver? for cables and some more bits.
I'll adjust the clutch as the gears were a bit clonky, tappets as well and chain etc. She does about 40mph so far but I haven't pinned it yet as want to go through the whole bike properly first!
Looking forward to meeting up with some other cub owners sometime over the summer.
Cheers bungee

Your local Honda Bike dealer can order parts for you ,mine sends me a text when they are in stock :) you can get part numbers off the CSMNL web site . Advantage is that I do not pay postage 8-)

I take it you changed the oil? That's the most important part of the bike.

My local honda said they get their parts from David silver.

Basically they can't be arsed!

Maybe if I did go in with part numbers it may help, I have browsed the cmsl website, very good.

Oil was changed very recently and looks like new.

It was father, son owned from new, the son is now 81 and still rides a 36' velocette.

I looking for some replacement trim for the headset cover, does anyone have any or know if they are the same as later bikes 90's etc?

Off into the garage now for a few more adjustments 👍
