Log Book number of seats
Hi all, I'm just looking for a C90 to take on the back of our camper to get the shopping & look around the local area without moving the van. My problem is that I have been looking at some JDM import bikes as I prefer the round headlight. The log book on those bikes says under number of seats:
1 INCLUDING THE DRIVER, although they come fitted with rear foot pegs. The UK bikes are BLANK after number of seats so I guess as they haven't specified it would be ok. I know this seems petty but I am just worried that the insurance company could get out of a claim if there were 2 of us & the log book says 1.
If anyone knows if this can be changed at the DVLA or any other info that might help I would be very grateful. I have emailed the DVLA to ask but haven't had a response yet.
Many thank
Wayne

Re: Log Book number of seats
Welcome to the club
A lot of Asian market bikes are single seat only and have a pad on the rear rack for the rest of the family. The new super cub is the same and not EU approved for pillion passengers.
So a genuine UK cub would be best , the round headlight ones with 12 volt electrics are rare though. Or how about a Vision 110 light weight twist and go .

Changing to 2 seats would be a type approval thing so not possible .

^ which ones , the new cub is not type approved for pillions in Europe hence single seat and no foot pegs.

Thanks for the info,I looked up the Vision & it's just over 100kg which is fine for our camper but if I stay below 100kg I could put it on the back of my car if I ever needed. I guess will stick with a UK C90. Thanks again

Re: Log Book number of seats
You can make a very light C90 if willing to spend the cash. The original C100 (50cc) had a design weight of 50kg and that had a dual seat.
I think I got mine down to around 65kg by using alloy rims and a capacitor in place of the battery. The seat also had a plastic base (from Thailand).

I quite often carry a spare. Bog standard C90 on lowered T4, makes very little difference to ride height even when the van is loaded for camping. Tried this setup on my Berlingo as well with no problems.

(the new one) I wondered why it's not type approved for a pillion

Are we playing 'Top Trumps' with how small a vehicle you can towball carry a C90 (type).
If so - I give you 600cc of raw Citroen power
