Welcome/Croeso.
Good luck with your search for a cub. Try to find one with as little rust as possible, particularly under the rear wheel arch.

And the rust you won’t see. Bottom of down tube, inside front forks, swing arm. Mechanical work is fairly straightforward. Price paid will depend on condition. Do you want to ride it or restore a basket case?

Thanks guys. I plan to ride it and keep it a long time so tempted to pay a bit more for one. I’m ok with maintenance and mechanical work myself, just like you say it’s the rot I need to look out for. Cheers

You'll therefore be looking to pay between £850 - £1250 for, hopefully, a good example. Between £1250 and £1850 you should be expecting to see very good examples. Between £1850 and £2250 the bike should be exceptional ir even close to mint.
Anything over £2500 is, in my opinion, not worth paying the money.
You'll occasionally see bikes in dealers up to £5000. It's true that good cubs are getting scarcer but don't let anybody fleece you.
We have a cub buying guide on the forum so you'll know what to watch out for.
Never feel you can't ask for help in your quest.
Lots of us have also rebuilt cubs from scratch to concourse condition. We know the ins and outs of them with a number of experts in electrics, engines, carburettors, touring etc.
