Whatever. Please don't expect me to plough through that post. ;)

Simply saying what I've done, a few times, in the past. :)

3 bikes. Never paid a penny.

In fact.... I heard a muttering... that PTU are a bit peeved at the burden DVLA are putting on them over this, in demanding NOVA for all vehicles, even those obviously not imported outside of models sold here originally.

At least one person I've dealt with was told by PTU to go back to DVLA and tell them, it wasn't necessary...

I’ll try a phone call, the email reply is as follows:

From the information you provided, it appears that you may have to apply for NOVA via a NOVA 1 form.

Please call the National Advice Service (NAS) helpline 0300 200 3700 and request form NOVA1 to be sent out.

Complete this form and post it to the Personal Transport Unit (PTU) in Dover (the address will be on the form) along with an accompanying letter and documents.

If you need to speak to PTU their number is 0300 3227071 option 3

PLEASE NOTE
All further e-mail correspondence sent by you should be directed to our main address at ecsm.nchcars@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk No e-mail should be redirected back to the officer dealing with any earlier correspondence as will be deleted, This is to make sure any absences from the office by staff does not delay prompt answers to your future enquires.

If a NOVA letter has been issued, please check that we have the correct VIN/Chassis number and if incorrect please let us know immediately before contacting DVLA.

Thank you

Due to being busy helping a family member last weekend - I couldn’t get my cub finished in time for the southern softies meet this weekend

Made some progress yesterday though

Image

Not had first start yet. But close.
My old C90 engine cover with the cutout for footrest is in bad condition. So I will have to leave the Lifan covers on. I’ve cut the right hand footrest off, I will heat/bend/thin out the arm so it fits between the Lifan case and exhaust.

I had a choice of exhaust gaskets, copper and a metal/composite one. Not sure which is Best and which way around it should be fitted? I guessed the flat edge against the head?

I bought a set of connectors from eBay as recommended on the Club FB group, pleased I did because one of them matches the Honda loom plug perfectly. I’m guessing the colours match up on the Lifan?
Turned ignition on. Neutral light worked, but Indicators wouldn’t flash?

16/39 and new chain fitted, I noticed there was a spacer missing from the rear wheel, luckily one of the Old barn find CUBs had one I could steal.

C90T running tonight

Quick go up and down a private road, all seems good. Just got to weld the footrest and then in for mot.
Hopefully I can get that done this week... and tax insure it Saturday, then run it in over the long weekend.

Late night yesterday, heating and bending the footrest to clear the Lifan clutch case (whilst missing the exhaust and brake pedal).
New Wemoto legsheild fitted in the dark, dropped it off at mot station this morning.

Still jobs to do, but want to get it on the road and run-in.

Taxed, Mot, Insured

First ride back from Garage in the rain

Few bits to tidy up, right footrest needs extending, brake pedal travel a touch too long. Doesn’t like changing gear - combination of me & being new I guess?!

Try the clutch adjustment in the guides ,and the brake should be easy .

Now for the scooter rally.
