New from Sri Lanka

Post by esdeez » Thu Jul 16, 2009 6:41 pm

Hey people,

I'm new to this forum and technically not a C90 owner however i do have my reasons for joining. One is that the the 90 is very popular in Sri Lanka , often refered to as the MD90 or Mail Delivery 90.

But the main reason is that i plan on converting my 70cc moped to using a C90 head and bore ect.

Just thought you might be interested to know about the project and how it works out and if you guys have any suggestions...

Hello and Welcome!
Delighted you are sharing your project with us, anything you need to know, post it up, some 'Cubbers' passing through these pages have encyclopedic knowledge of the Cubs, so hopefully someone will be able to help.

Welcome to the forum! We share an interest in all the cub range, not just the 90's. I look forward to hearing about your project :)

The 70 and 90 use exactly the same bore (47mm) The difference in capacity is achieved with a longer stroke (70 is 41.4mm - 90 is 49.5mm) so to convert your 70 to 90 you'll need the C90 crankshaft and conrod, and the C90 barrel and piston (although the same bore, the 90 barrel is taller to match the longer stroke)
It may be easier to just fit the complete C90 engine!

PS.. I'm talking about the post 1982 12v c90 engine here.. the older 6v C90 used a completely different engine, no parts of which are interechangeable with your 70.
