Eyup from a mid 40s Yorkshireman living in County Durham.
I am very new to bikes having played mostly with Land Rovers as a young 'un I never had the money to get into the 2 wheel thing.
I am hoping to find useful info here to help me get my new to me 1999 C90 how I want it. It isnt pretty but seems to run well. I will be taking my CBT on the little Joe 90 as soon as I am finished setting it up to my liking. I am moving the throttle and front brake lever to the left side due to a crippled right hand then I will be on the road.
I do have a larger Honda I bought on impulse a while ago (mid life crisis?) but lockdown has prevented me from getting legal to ride it and to be honest I aren't sure when I will get motivated to take my proper Bike test. I wasn't aware of the whole Theory / CBT / Mod 1 / Mod 2 thing when I decided I wanted a bike!
Cheers for now.
Jim.

Re: Eyup
Hi Jim. Welcome. One thing you might want to look into earlier rather than later to avoid delay or disappointment, is getting the bike insured when you don't yet have a CBT, to get a CBT.
It's a catch 22 situation, as many insurers won't give insurance until you have a CBT, making it difficult to do CBT on your own bike.
At a push, try Gary at TR Youngs, details in recommended suppliers.

Youngs/Allstyles are now a Northampton based company (having been bought out) still with an Essex contact number. Claim to offer same standard of service but last renewal (from France) lots of dicking about and when i returned home read the small print only 30 days Euro cover in one go though unlikely to affect CBT/L plate cover

Re: Eyup
Thankyou all, I will post pictures once I have finished the switchgear wiring. I hadn't thought about the insurance issue cheers for highlighting it to me I will make some enquiries. It is certainly a lot of faffing about to get my self on the road legally isn't it! I should have bought a 50cc i'm fairly sure I need no test to ride a moped but at 6'3" and 16 stone the 90 will have its work cut out dragging me around. Cheers.
