Intro - trying to locate a C50 of old

Post by Unrapid » Mon Jul 26, 2021 3:49 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and this is my first post. I'm actually trying to track down a C50 I owned from 1990 to 1991. Has anyone any advice about where I should start? All I have is the registration number to go on. Would be nice to find the old gal.

Thanks all,

D

Given its reach I'd say Facebook is your best option.

Post the registration on the C90club page, and bump the post up periodically, to see if anyone recognises it.

As helpful as the DVLA can be (when they want to be) I doubt they'll be much help beyond what you can search yourself online.

First ting I'd do though, is check whether it is insured. https://ownvehicle.askmid.com/

Next I'd check its LOT status. https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-status

Those two will at least give an indication of if it is on the road still, and if not, how long it has been off-the-road.

If you are looking at an MOT status due in the last 5 years, it may be in storage. If the MOT status is 20 years old, for example, it's probably safe to assume it's been scrapped.
