Newt and Nuts Xmas sprint.challenge/race :)

Post by aliengravy » Tue Dec 15, 2009 5:25 pm

OK
Been meaning to do this for a while to let you all know how Newt and Nut are getting on!! Newt and Nut both left at about 07.00 on Monday morning and travelled up North to meet each other and spent the night in a hotel! Both arrived at the hotel safe on Monday night and i spoke with Newt to check they were both OK!
Newt had done just under 400 miles, and had averaged around 35mph, with a top speed of 58!! on the sat nav! I am not sure about Nut!
Today they are travelling up to John'o'groats, i believe they had a slow start this morning due to the weather but i will check with them when i hear from them tonight! And as far as i am aware the race begins in the morning!!

Pics of Newts bike just before he left:

More pics and info to come soon i hope!

They are still together and near Invergordon.
Quite a long way but still about 100 miles to go.

Here on the Map near Invergordon North of Aberdeeen.

Is the fur from the chap at the front fed directly to the seat?

They made John o groats about 7 pm .They stopped at a hotel and then went on to the village.
Newt has some good pictures from the mountains .A good nights sleep and the race starts tomorrow.
I spoke to Newt he sounds very Chipper he says it has rained a lot but they kept up a good speed and got up to 60 at times down hill.

I think I may have had too much to drink as the screen looks all blurred. Wish I was there with them.

Got a spanner in is hand as i know he said they had a little bit of maintenance to do as they needed to tighten chains and check oil!!

He says the bike is doing brilliantly and he saw 60mph on the sat nav yesterday :) :)

OK

Just spoken with Newt! He has broken down 5 times already since leaving John O Groats and hasn't made an awful lot of progress. He believes the fuel tap he used on his system has melted and is causing blockages, he is now under way again!
