Living with a Biker

Post by Geoff from Preston » Fri Jul 08, 2022 4:06 pm

I thought that you may be interested in this little ditty that Sheila wrote whilst I was away on a bike tour:-

Living with a Biker

I’m living with a biker
And I’ve ceased trying to compete
With two shiny wheels an engine
And a nice fat padded seat.

He rides out each and every winter
Wrapped up in numerous layers of clothes
But still manages to arrive home frozen
From his fingers to his toes.

Having to navigate so many layers
Each time he feels nature call
Takes a degree of dedication
I can’t comprehend at all.

Of course he’s out again in summer,
And as I sit soaking up the sun
He’s sweltering under all those clothes,
That’s not my idea of fun.

He likes to take the roads less travelled,
And says he generally finds,
You can park your scooter anywhere
If you ignore NO PARKING signs.

Geoff will always be a biker,
I’m sure it’s in his D and A,
He’ll probably still be biking
Come the judgment day.

So I hope St Peter doesn’t say
As Geoff roars up to Heaven’s gate,
You can’t park that thing here
I’m really sorry mate

I know you’ve travelled many miles
On your journey from the earth
If it was up to me I’d let you in
But it’s more than my jobs worth.
