Smugglers route Andorra on an Innova

Post by Godspeed » Fri Oct 01, 2021 7:08 pm

So far I’ve made it to Andorra (more on that later) and one thing I really wanted to do whilst here was the Smugglers Route.

Riding up the tarmac’d side and then down the off road stuff is never my choice of direction but needs must. It was a little slow going down considering I’m on road tyres so I needed to take it steady. At one point I was overtaken by one of those mad mountain bikers so decided to follow suit. I switched off the engine and rolled down the hill just using the engine to get me through the Ford. I only got down to Tor to get a pic of the cafe then turned round and legged it back up again.

I know this route was used for smuggling and I kept thinking if it wasn’t for being on a bright blue bike with a massive pink sticker on the top box I’d be the epitome of stealthy 😂

Again the bike held up well and reinforced what a master of all it is 🤪

Tomorrow I head to Lourdes-then north to Nantes and the back to Calais and back across to Bristol.

If anyone is in any doubt about travelling abroad on their bike then I can heartily recommend it. France in general is much better at wearing masks, and really feels much safer than home really 👍

If you change direction via Vienne and pass near to Airvault shout out (message me). Happy to offer a beer/meal or place to crash but all very basic Heath Robinson

Can only second what you say about France, respectful of rules, masked in all public places and no Covid certificate no entry to ANY venue
