Last weekend took the C90 out on a 110 mile jaunt around the Peak District, exploring all the little back lanes I'd never normally take my big bike down (steep gradients, loose gravel on the road, no space to get past another vehicle and a quarter ton of VFR don't mix particularly well!). Had a whale of a time! Included breakfast at the Yonderman Cafe too. Had to get fuel in Bakewell and had a minor panic when I spotted they'd swapped over to E10, but then spotted they had super unleaded too so all was well. I really need to get myself an aux fuel container for these longer rides!

The bike ran flawlessly throughout - many hills needed 2nd gear to get up, but there are some pretty steep roads in the Derbyshire and Staffordshire dales. Didn't have to drop to 1st at any point, even though I'm running a 16T on the front.

Calculated economy was around 140mpg which given I'm in "running in mode" still (heavy on/off the throttle a lot to help bed the rings in) I'm pretty pleased with!

The Cubs are the best bikes for the lanes , we used to have regular meets in Matlock before covid so who knows next year they may start again. For hosting photos look at Postimage , use the search box, and information on how to use it is all on here

Cheers. Parking at Matlock (Bath I presume?) would be easier with a C90 too.

Yes and camping at the rugby club , so keep an eye on the event page next year.

I will indeed keep an eye on all this. Went touring with camping kit for the first time this year (as opposed to B&Bs / hostels) which was good fun, albeit that was on the VFR. I can imagine the C90 experience is different, but in a good way. Lord knows how the rear suspension copes with the extra weight on board though.

Excellent photos and write up. We did a similar trip last week even including the Yonderman breakfast and petrol in Bakewell with your E10/E5 dilemma.. We were photographed by 'Villager Jim' at Longstone Edge and then went on to Staffordshire like you. 112 miles, couldn't get a better day out. I see Villager Jim now has a photo of Tom Cruise driving a steam engine over a cliff on his facebook page. Doddery old men on Cubs or Tom Cruise - Guess who got the most likes!

Most of us have fitted upgraded,adjustable,rear dampers,which can cope easily with the extra weight.This upgrade is by far,the best single improvement that can to made on these bikes

I'm in Staffordshire myself, it's gorgeous riding out there in the Staffs Moors/Peaks and I need to get out there more often.
