What is the point of a small scooter in town - if you can't filter? Most - no all of my journeys are all filtering in traffic. Every set of traffic lights - is up the middle of two rows of stationary cars - right to the front.

I get annoyed if I have to put my foot down on the journey thru traffic - slow but steady pace carving thru the traffic - on the outside or the inside of cars.

Which country do you come from?

I'm not putting cost of helmet, gloves etc as that's just bound to happen. In any case, I don't smoke, hardly drink and don't play golf so that's saving me thousands for starters.

£181.50 = 15p per mile

Yeah I agree that every so often you need new tyres etc but it's still a very cheap form of transport plus you'll get all your money back if/when you want to sell.

£40.00 for oil and filter ( there isn't one as you well know) . For various reasons, please never service or indeed touch any of my bikes. Preposterous.

As well as my cub I have a 1977 Camino in the garage.Historic vehicle so Free tax. No MOT. Insured as part of a multibike policy. 130 mpg. It's crap to ride and yours for only £500 if you want to buy an appreciating asset!
Our local bus costs £2.50 for a two mile journey for those without a pensioner's bus pass so around here public transport makes even my BMW seem cheap.

Denmark. The ruling powers absolutely detest the idea of the herds beating the congestion and expensive and slow public transport, so filtering is strictly forbidden and we are only allowed to park in non-existent motorcycle parking spaces or where the cars are supposed to park. And we have to pay the same as for cars. We pay by an app, so there's no escape.

To further discourage filtering, Copenhagen is putting 10 cm high curbstone dividers in the middle of the streets, so any delivery truck stops all traffic in one direction, and there's no getting around, even on the tiniest scooter.
