LEJOG by Cyclemotor

Not a C90 story but one from a C90 and T80 owner. Starting on Friday 13th April I am going to try and ride my Dad's old 1949 Rudge Pathfinder push bike with a 1952 Trojan Mini Motor from Land's End to John o' Groats. I'm doing it in what I hope will be easy stages following a bicycle friendly route with about 45 - 70 miles a day. The bicycle has been in my extended family from new. It was originally bought by my uncle Bob Skinner in 1949. My Dad bought it from him about 1960 and rode it occasionally for 40 years. I begged it off him when he bought a more modern bike and motorised it in 2011. If things go to plan it should be on the National Autocycle and Cyclemotor Club stand at the Carole Nash Classic Bike Show at Stafford on 21st 22nd April before it continues its journey northwards. Sadly both my Uncle and my Dad suffered with dementia so I'm trying to raise some money for Alzheimer's Research UK who are dedicated to finding means of preventing, slowing down the progress of the disease and eventually eradicating it. If you want to know how the trip goes I have started a blog at https://raleighrudginit.wordpress.com The donation page for Alzheimer's Research UK is at: https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/raleighrudginit If you do see me en route please give me a wave. Thanks for your attention.

WOW! That's ambitious! And a very worthy cause. Bring this to our attention nearer the date, and we'll put the topic Global for a few days, to try to get you max interest. And put it on our FB page too.

Sounds like a fine idea worthy of a true British eccentric.

Could be tempted to have a go myself at some stage.....just need to convince the missus to drive the support vehicle.

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement and to Diesel Dave for the donation. A velosolex is slower than a Trojan Mini Motor but a better climber. No excuses
