Hi all, been off the scene for a while but i miss my C90 so am looking to take her back to Morocco this year. I last went i think in around 2013 and had a blast. Has anyone been recently and can update me on what the current situatuion is with entry paperwork is for the bike?

Which do you find is the best route to take, as in crossing from Spain?
Have heard stories of kids unscrewing the top of brake fluid reservoir on a Tiger 800 and wanting money for return, thus lockable caps essential.

I'm interested in this - or at least the paperwork side. Been toying with a trip to Morocco on a bigger bike in May......

I'm sure Morocco would be interesting. Dodgy maybe.

We went over on holiday a few years back. Took the children. Hired a car. Drove all over on our own. Had a whale of a time.

I've always said that I think the children make some things easier - including roadside checks in Morocco.

As for the idea of taking the bike, it's something I'd like to do. I'm not convinced going alone is sensible (but sensible is not often my way) but with someone else I think it would be ok.....

Stop thinking of Morocco being dodgy, I have been twice, once on a gs800 and once on my c90. Best trip? C90, why? Because when you ride into a village on a GS, you are on something which is at least a years salary to them so you cannot expect them to run up and want to swop stories with you and whilst we never had any interfering with the bikes you have got to be pretty dim to let it happen.

When you turn up on the C90 they do come up to you and want to talk about what you are doing. Even funnier is talking to the GS boys about where you have been/going. 'What do you mean you are going off the main roads.' Lol

Would I go alone, umm probably not, not because of security but because it is more fun sharing the adventure together.

Sorry meant to add, I have gone via Algeciras to Ceuta and from Almeria to Melilla. Advantage of former is it is quick but advantage of latte is it is a night ferry. So, we got bikes shipped to Malaga then flew to Malaga picked them up rode down to port, good nights sleep on ferry overnight before starting trip next day.

I went on a BMW ride to Morocco some years ago, when I had an 1150GS. I rode to Plymouth where I met the tour leader and other tour members, then used the Sanander ferry. Rode through Spain to Algercias, crossed to Ceuta, and rode down through Morocco via Fez to the Sahara, and back via the Atlas Mountains and Marrakesh to return to Spain via Ceuta. Back up through Spin on a different route to the southbound one, home via the Santander ferry.

Took 3 weeks, and It was some of the best fun I've had on a motorcycle. Made some great friends too. Not sure I'd want to do it on a C50 or 90 simply because some of the distances are vast and it would take for ever. However, I can imagine if you have the time, it could be great fun.

Nice to think you've ridden your bike from home in the north of England, to the Sahara and back.
