All I can say ,is that there must be a lot of people earning big money to get that average, considering the millions that are working on no hours contracts.

After doing some research it looks like i will have to get a bike 150cc or bigger to be allowed to cross the borders into Laos, Cambodia. Cant take foreign bikes into Vietnam so will have to buy/hire one there. Shame they dont make a Cub with a 150cc engine:(

Mat - from reading "Short ride in the jungle" by Antonia Bolingbroke-Kent, she rode a C90 she bought in Vietnam. I'm pretty sure that she crossed into both Laos and Cambodia.

Ex5 is a great choice - lots of places to carry stuff - can also fit a carrier on the back and a smaller seat (so you don't have to take your bag off every time you want to refuel) check out the Japanese Super Cub version you'll see what I mean. I live in Vietnam and have one myself that I'm having sorted out - putting a disc brake on the front for sure - those drum brakes don't work so well and as another member hinted at things can get a little chaotic in Asia - need good brakes! If Malaysia is anything like Vietnam then 100cc is plenty - you really don't want to go much faster than 60 km/hr - just too dangerous. Keep us posted and good luck!
