Re: Heinz's first long rideout
Oh no. this could end up being one epic journey.

I may leave home and there will be no snow in sight but as i approach the heads of the valleys
where the ground is much higher above sea level the snow can settle and be very thick.

This is becoming a concern kev because you know what the Heads of the Valleys road can be like when the weather comes in.

Hmm. I still have nightmares that I'm trying to escape from one of Elton's party's or trying to climb out of Barrymore's pool...... Not sure about 'Iron Butt' deffo 'Sore Butt'.Harry Notts wrote:airhead_eire wrote:I do realize there are some hardcore high mileage Cub riders on here !!
1000 miles in 24 hours is good going on a 1000cc bike, let alone a C50/70/90 !!
Yeah but. Nutter Neil and Jim Newtsalad have never been quite the same since.
BTW was 1075 miles. 25 minutes to spare. Would've got a few more miles in, but I was buzzed by my welcoming committee, and I was just a little bored of riding. And I'd made the register.

im not in any rush and will be dropping in to a few pubs or cafes for a nice hot cup of tea
on route and i will be stopping to take a few photos if it is not pouring down.
If I wasn't so friggin' busy I'd ride up there and buy you a bacon buttie.

There is a motorbike shop just over the road called Snells who were the local honda dealer some years ago.
It is also the place that my 1997 C90MT was brought from by my stepfather who was the owner before me

Re: Heinz's first long rideout
I have now fitted a USB charging port and the touring rack has been fitted.
Bike is running absolutely fantastic which i put down to the supergreen petrol.
Just need to carry out a few minor checks the day before i leave as well as fill up
the petrol can and tank with esso's finest supergreen
Here is the link for the USB charging port

I connected the earth (black) to the horn mounting bolt
and the live (red) to the black wire connecting to the horn
as this is only live with the ignition switched on

Re: Heinz's first long rideout
Well the time will soon be here for me to load up and make my way over the Heads of the Valleys.
The weather looks as if there may be a few small showers in swansea but dry and cloudy
as i reach Gloucester
Bike is running great. All i need to do is fill with petrol on the way
and set my speedo on the mobile so i can keep a check on my average speed.
I will also be taking a flask of nice hot tea
