Looking like you might need some more "side missions" in there CeeGee!

You coming down/up on the 12th still? You might get to add one then! I think we will be doing a ride out soon to plan the route!! If you get up to any adventures you might have to let Me, Newt and Mav know as we may join ;)

Brilliant story Cee Gee. The midges and rain are a blight on rhayader camp site, before moving here i used the site for 23 years, every year I threatened to find a midge free site, I can tel you there is not one. weve tried yellow candles, those curly sticks that you burn and BBQ smoke all they do is choke you. but the site is now where near as bad as loch Long in Scotland where bee keepers kit is needed. Yes great write up. Thanks Prof.

Yes the midges were as responsible for the Scottish clearances as the English sheep farmer lords.

The first night we where at Rhayader we parked the van up on the Gigrin farm campsie where they feed the kites. When we came down to the site you where all stayin on on the first night we could see you had allot of midges, and there where none at Gigrin farm!! there when no showers though so it wasn't very camper friendly! It was OK in the motorhome though!

I didn't think it was too bad, though I did see Gorilla Mike took a right pounding off them!
Remember turning up at Fort WIlliam to hike up Nevis about 7pm? THAT was PAINFUL!! Proper eaten alive!

I will be posting on both sites but now the other site is back as it was years ago and I still like it.

Yes, I should still be coming to the shindig on the 12th, have spoke to my boss, and I believe taking the Friday off will be fine too, so should be there sometime in the afternoon!

Prof- I've encountered the midges at Loch Long too- I stayed at a campsite there on my Round Britain trip. On the Sunday morning as I packed up my tent, I covered myself in Deet (the 100% stuff) but they still swarmed around me in a big black cloud. I suspect they'd been 'Oot on the Tennants Super' the night before and had the munchies!
