Not really a ride, but a journey anyway

Post by Bicyclebob30 » Mon May 17, 2010 12:46 pm

Just finished putting my c90zz into a crate for air freight to Halifax. Nova Scotia. I emigrate there in two weeks, and the bike will follow on once we have a house organised. As far as I know, it will be the only c90 for about 2000 miles in any direction!

Dexion is wonderful stuff, isn't it? This lot came from the Royal Bank of Scotland's document store, about 15 years ago.

So it'll be a rarity then. I wonder if that'll make it worth more or if it'll be less because of the spares market. Not that you can put a price on a beautiful little machine like that. :D
It'll certainly be a head turner over there. :o
Will you be fitting a snow plow (Not the wrong spelling) for the winter?
Don't go without saying a proper goodbye to us all, here and t'other site :( will you Bob.

Surely it's not goodbye, but more au revoir? :)

'Will you be fitting a snow plow (Not the wrong spelling) for the winter?'

Hmm, I was over in January this year, and the amount of snow on the roads then would dissolve a c90 frame in about 2 days! The bike will definitely be staying in the garage from October to March. It will certainly be a rare beast in NS. I have seen a couple of CT90s advertised in the local ads in Halifax, and decent ones go for a fortune - well over £1000 equivalent. Old UK cars are even rarer than old japanese bikes over there - someone with a 1970 Austin 1300 thinks he can get nearly $6000 (Nearly £4000) for his. Can't see it, myself. You could buy the best in the UK and ship it over for less than that, and you'd still only have an Austin 1300!

I will post pix of our adventures on the board occasionally, so it is indeed 'au revoir'!

Bon voyage Bob.. the wonder of internet means we'll all be in touch as much as ever, but you'll be missed at Rhayader.
I think the CM91 may have been offered in Canada, but I'm not 100% sure. What I do know is the C65 was sold there for a while. (like C100 but 63cc OHC engine and a few other details different. Basically the C70 predecessor) They've always struck me as an interesting bike, being the original OHC Cub, and the provider of the engine design that survives to this day in every 12v Cub, Passport, pitbike, etc etc etc... Keep your eyes peeled, you never know what's lurking in barns!! ;)
