Before I saw the posts, my mental comment was "...great pics...", but I was beaten to it. I'm new to Innovas, just having bought a 2005 Carb which I'm really pleased with. Do you know the model number of the Givi panniers you have, please? They look really usable and slightly retro. Thanks...

Hi, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The panniers are Givi E21 panniers, I think replaced by the E22 boxes. The tricky part is getting the wing rack to fit on the sides and involves a delicate mix of fabrication and bodging it 😉

Are you still there, 'Godspeed'?? Shows how much I go on the forum as I've only just seen your reply to my query about the Givi panniers on your Innova, going back to early last year! Since then I rode my 2005 carb 4000 miles around Europe (Slovenia, NE Germany, Brittanny and home) over 4 weeks. Averaged over 155mpg, used a litre or so of oil and adjusted the chain a couple of times, so not a bad return for the £900 it cost me. I've just spent a few hundred on new brakes, rear shocks, sprockets and the like and would like to fit hard-case panniers as the soft-case ones were a pain when having to remove them as well as my tent/bed-roll to fill up. The E22's are still available but I'll also need the frame and there seem to be quite a choice. I'm sure that there'll be nothing spec'd for the Innova, so was wondering if your memory's good enough to recall what you 'finessed' on yours... BTW, mine was christened Inez the Innova on the trip out, but having traversed the Alps (and in these enlightened times) they morphed into Hannibal. Cheers, Andy R

Hi Andy,
Sounds like a great trip. Yeh, mine has just completed over 6500 miles in Europe over the past few years. They really are great bikes.
Like I said it’s just a wing rack then you’ll need to find various bits of metal to attach it to the side of the rear foot pegs and at the top to the rack that’s on there. It’s quite a lot of trial and error til if feels right.
Good luck 👍
