Wanted - Wheel restorer

Post by shaggy33 » Mon Sep 19, 2011 12:31 pm

Hi All
I am looking for someone (preferably in the Midlands but can travel if necessary) for a wheel restoration company who will restore and paint my spoked wheels.

I realise that there is a point where the cost of restoration is more than buying some new ones but would be interested to see what the options are.

Any info gratefully received

It probably best to buy a good second hand wheel or a new rim. Re-chroming is an expensive process. You can of course sand the rim down and paint the wheel any colour you want as long as you put a good primer on first.

Thanks Radar

Think I'll give it a go myself and I guess all I need is some elbow grease and appropriate sand paper! I want to paint them red and fit with white wall tyres :D

All i've done with a fairly rough set of spoked wheels for an upcoming project is put them in for blasting and powdercoating in black, far better than paint, and they look terrific :)
