'92 12v C90 Crankshaft

Post by Berserkz0r89 » Fri Jun 24, 2011 12:14 pm

So I don't usually post on these forums, but I just spent £240 getting the crankshaft bearings on my cub repaired at a local garage only for the actual crankshaft to snap in half this morning as I was test riding it. :x Does anybody have or know of a crankshaft for sale? Definitely regretting spending all that money on labour only for it to break again like that. The bloke at the garage has offered to fit a new crankshaft for free if we can find one, though.

Thanks.

Could have brought a brand new 110cc chinese engine for that. I'm sure someone will have one mate, I do but it means dimantling an engine and I've got other things to do :)

These will sort you out. Repair or supply new. Ignore the website, it's crap. Just phone them and tell them the problem and they'll sort it.viewtopic.php?f=25&t=163

Thanks Newt, but they don't have a crankshaft for a C90. I'm trying to avoid sending off parts and paying yet more people for repairs at this point. Know any other places that might have one? I can't believe there's nothing on eBay at all!

Who is conrod fitter? A member on this forum?

C90 crankshafts don't normally snap!! :o :? I'd be worried about the people who fitted the bearings having pressed it together out of true or somehow damaged the surface whilst fitting the bearings creating a stress riser.
Were they a bike specialist used to dismantling pressed together crankshafts?

Grampians had two left last time I spoke to them, sad to hear they're all gone.
