Wanted C90C tintail frame copy

Post by Cerberus73 » Sat Feb 27, 2021 1:44 pm

Anyone have one of those MotorMania supplied (or similar) C90C tin tail frames. I know the welding is crapolla on them, but ill be getting it completly re-welded by TIG its more that it has far more metal left in it that my spare frame. Or know of a reasonably priced genuine Honda supplier?

Im unsure how bad a frame can be before its totally beyond repair, this one has lots of pitting in places, on the tube as well. and the usual rear end rot. seriously i brushed half the frame off the garage floor it seemed when i stripped it yesterday. so one of these clones from vietnam seems to be best option at min. I dont want one of those kepspeed chopped off sorts, it has to be the full 12v tin tail.

One of the monkey bike lads on the IOW is bring in some presscub and other cub type frames(with NOVA's) in from Japan, one of them should have my name on it. Have told him to save me a good presscub frame as this is the tintail type. He told me £300 posted to my door for it. He was also bring in 30 full c50 presscubs these were going to be £1000 with mot and v5,pickup from the IOW or this side of the water. Think he has sold all the 30 now.
Will do a posting of the frame when i get it.

Yeah ive seen those, but i want something that is correct for the year of the bike (1983) so i can keep my reg number, and the parts will swap straight over to. And i need a frame now, well soon, not having to wait on a slow boat from Japan, then id be £150+ to get it from bottom of England to Aberdeen. So better off with a new Frame if i can get one.

Im in the process of doing a new Tomos, well new old stock from the early 80s. through NOVA, HMRC/DVLA and it adds a bit to the cost of doing an import (this ones not imported, was just never registered but process is identical) by time i get dating cert, v55 costs, MOT and Tax, its over £100 on top.
