C90E is a 6volt engine ,the C90e prefix was used up to the last 6 volt 90 engines so about 1967 onwards .

Sounds about right the Z2 model was from 77 to 79 with frame numbers C90-5104865 to C90-5132699 so a run of 27834
Frame and engine numbers were rarely the same but normally within a 100 or so.
Your'e engine number C90E 5123538
It's about two thirds of the way through the production run.

Other than the carburettor change i don't think there was any major or even minor change to the main engine unit.
