Previous owner seems to have broken a piece off where the exhaust goes in.

Hi Steve. Sorry I am not the most mechanically minded person in the world so as far as I can explain it’s the bit where the exhaust goes into. There are two studs either side to clamp the exhaust on but where the exhaust goes in a piece has broken off. I can post a picture tomorrow if that helps. Thanks

Likely just the way the head has been cast in production, they look broken but not, I think that's what steve is trying to show you.

C90 heads are supposed to have a large part missing between the two studs. Have a look at steves pictures to see if yours are the same.
