Postie bike

Post by Harps18TV » Sun Oct 14, 2018 11:34 am

I have a hankering for getting one. (I haven`t mentioned it to my wife yet - just looking for the right moment.) If anyone has one & is thinking of getting rid of it in the near future, I may well be interested, depending on condition/price/wife :) etc.

Most of the CTs appearing here seem to be US imports IMHO. There are a couple of people importing them now, someone will advise I'm sure.

Not sure if anyone else has latched on to the idea that Australia is awash with CT110 and NBC110 which would go down well here IMHO. I got all enthusiastic about bringing over 2 or 3 NBC110s earlier this year but still need to sort out shipping. This was/will be a private as opposed to a commercial venture as I have no interest in going back to working for a living! Both CTs and NBCs come up for auction in batches all the time and seem to fetch quite low prices although they are rising due to the rise of the Postie "Scene" in Oz.

Like yourself I would love one here, an ideal all round bike, just right for one of Ben's Byway Bashes! Can't wait to get back to mine.

Importing 2 or 3 would probably still be treated as a commercial venture, & that would need preference certs to qualify for a reduce rate of duty here & agents to enter the shipment to the UK & pay any charges. The importers of used bikes probably have to fill a container to make the transport costs viable. Best way is to ride your bike home!! :)
