Crankshaft Wanted Please.

Post by Bandersnatch » Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:44 pm

Hi, people, is there any kind folk amongst you who have a Electric start crankshaft they would willingly sell for a reasonable price, the flywheel/stator side of mine is buggered due to rust, even that side moon of the crank would do, or even one with a knackered big end as I have a new big end kit to fit. Thank you.

And then there are two Sizes of cranks for the 12v 90, one has a 23mm big end pin and the other is 25mm.

The 25mm crank has two deep lines going all the way round on the flywheel side web, Its a easy crank to spot once the cylinder is removed.

how about stripping the old crank down and trying to clean the web up if it comes to it,
reduce the shaft size before the web,(so it dont mess with the main) Then fit a 1mm smaller inside diameter seal to the stator plate.

I think I would rather just find a crank, the machine work alone would out weigh the value of such an operation, and the face that's knackered has a needle bearing running on it from the starter / sprang clutch sprocket also, then that would also need addressing. Hopefully someone will have a knackered complete crank they will let go of !

Might be able to help you there now, Your post on my ebay link says C70 12V. And the c70 crank is not the same as a c90 12v, The webs are smaller and the rods are not the same, I might have a c70 12v web.

Alan, if you have one to sell I would be grateful, it is indeed a 12v c70 1983, the side I want is the stator side and it has the male threaded end not the female ?? Regards.

Is a crank from a 90 pushrod engine any use to you?
