Brit in Tokyo - first cub
Hi Everyone
Moved to Tokyo a few months ago and have fallen for the Cub. Was thinking of buying a super cub pro brand new, but don't have the 125cc license yet, so just bought a late 90's early 00's little cub 50 with electric start instead.
Going to try it out and see if I can commute the 11km to work work, then find a way to get my 125 licence and then get a super cub pro 110. As you might tell, I kinda like the smaller wheeled versions, just think they are cool
Just got my plates from the local town hall, will collect bike on Tuesday.
Looking forward to being here for the 60 year anniversary next year

ようこそ、
Little Cubs are great fun in Japan and a heck of a lot cheaper than train or taxi rides. Brings back memories just thinking about it.
Anyway welcome to the club from the resident 日本人。

Thanks AE86, before I left Hong Kong I had to sell my AE86 and my JZX100, now I have just bought a GS130 crown station wagon.
I got a cool little half helmet today, the type you can only use up to 125cc from a great little helmet boutique in Shibuya called Dammtrax
Looking forward to hearing more of your tips and advice

You're bringing back some serious nostalgia for me, 懐かしいね。How difficult was it to find that GS130? I haven't lived there since 09, but even then I remember early 90's cars getting a bit sparse in my town. Was riding around in a 94' Mira before I left and it was always at the buttend of jokes for how old it was. Sold it for 7500 yen,
Of all the old cars, I miss my old panda coloured Toyota the most (hence the username), followed closely by my 180sx (also painted in a panda scheme). Not even an Initial D or drifting fan, I just like rear drive little hatches for ease of working on them and mix of sportiness and economy. Drifters and tuners though ensure I always have a load of spare original parts to chosen from for pennies.
Anyway, I have a section here where I've made a series of C90 assembly/disassebly videos and threads. Applies to your Little Cub as well if you care to tear into the motor. I'm also likely to do a C50 to C90/100cc conversion video in the near future for those who want to upgrade their 50s.

And forgive that the accent in the videos is all over the place. Mum's only a half Brit and I've never been to proper English school, having grown up in Asia.

Clicking on the photobucket link for pictures of mersontheperson and getting an advert to win an iPhone. It's one of those you can't get rid of unless you say "OK".

I notice the Yamaha SR400's in the background.
