Re: New owner of a C90, hello all.
So I've called around to some insurance companies today and this is what I found:
Carole Nash - wouldn't quote me due to my age.
Footman James - £770 fully comp
Adrian Flux - £526 fully comp, £293 TPFT
These all seem ridiculous for a C90 to me considering they're based on having 1 yrs ncb, and I'm only paying £310 for my 650cc SV with none!
I even tried GoSkippy who I have my SV insured with but they were too busy to help - I've spoken to them in the past and their customer service is terrible.
I'm surprised it's been such a ball ache to find insurance for it.
Forgot to mention that I'm 20, any other suggestions on who to try?

I'm shocked at those prices, Ryan.
Presumably you've been on the Compare sites. Try LV= as well.

Crazy right? I've tried the comparison sites but it does not recognise the registration and C90 is nowhere to be found on the manual search either.
Would've tried LV= but they're closed now.
Just out of curiosity, I searched for '1975 Cub 90' in google images and found example like mine - so I entered the registration into a comparison site and it comes up as a CB100?

Every "Vehicle Registration finder" site I've tried says your vehicle doesn't exist!

The government's vehicle enquiry website picks it up fine. Might be because it's been off the road for such a long time.

easy mistake, shows as 736cc so probably a CB750.
I tried a couple more C90's like mine using the no. plates of ones that have sold recently and they come up as CB100's on quote websites... I wonder why!

Looking good Ryan, it would be great to keep it in that condition. Have you sorted out your insurance yet? If not try MCN compare. As I've just got a C90 and paid under £92 fully comp, including a claim a couple of years back when I run into the back of the ex girlfriends bike (ouch!)

Thanks Nick, yes I ended up going with Hastings after a long phone call I explained the situation and they were happy to offer me a quote for just under £160 which I thought was okay. I had it running for a bit but I'm now struggling to get it started again! It seems like it doesn't want to be woken from its 35 year slumber lol.akela nick wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2017 9:04 amLooking good Ryan, it would be great to keep it in that condition.
