New owner of a C90, hello all.
Hi everyone. My name's Ryan, I live in Norwich and have been riding since March last year after doing a CBT.
I came across this forum when reading up about the humble C90 many a time and thought I'd better sign up, as I've just gone and bought one!
I like my old cars and bikes so I picked this up last weekend, a 1975 C90 that's only been off the road since 1982! I bought it mainly to use for work but after seeing how original it is, I might just keep hold of it and use it on sunny days.
My plan is to gradually put it back into use, starting with a good service and recommissioning and then see how well it'll clean up.
I think it'll be an interesting little project and something easy enough for me to start with as I'm only starting to get used to the spanners.
I also own a Mk1 Ford Fiesta which is my first car, a Kawasaki AR125 and a Suzuki SV650 currently.
Look forward to your thoughts and hopefully future conversations!
Thanks,
Ryan

Hello. Service it and clean it. The please leave it well alone, err apart from riding it.

Thank you both. I'll certainly be keeping it as is once it's all running nicely and on the road. Oh, and it's only had one owner from new. The seller said that it was a museum exhibit for a number of years.

Well done Ryan.
Shine it up and keep it original.
You'll have shed loads of local knowledge available if you require it.

Thanks! I can't wait to get out on it... The only difficulty I'm having at the moment is finding insurance. I've had a look on the usual comparison sites but they don't seem to pick up on what model it is. I might ring around today and see how far I get, I found with my car that a lot of the classic insurers won't take on anyone under 25 which is a shame.

DVLA have the bike as Gold colour ,which only came out on the 12 volt bikes , yours is elephant grey though. You can get the history from DVLA for about £5 which would show when the colour change took place.
Have you got it registered in your name yet ? and do not park on the grass for too long or it will rot out the bottom of your Fiesta .

Hi, where did you find that information? I've already done a vehicle enquiry and it showed as grey like it should.wightegi wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2017 8:17 amDVLA have the bike as Gold colour ,which only came out on the 12 volt bikes , yours is elephant grey though. You can get the history from DVLA for about £5 which would show when the colour change took place.
