Carbs tend to be zinc based casting alloys, whilst the cases are more magnesium based, hence the corrosion difference
Good luck with it Janz, it,s a time consuming dirty job.......................................but someone has to do it

Sounds like you are in to this ,a lot of us have other bikes and are in other clubs so polishing may be of use to more people .But do look at your health and safety full face visor and take care of your ears. But lots of people like bling bits for bikes, cars and all sorts so the market is there.

Cheers Wightegi! I bought a couple of painters paper suits from the pound shop but they make me look like a ***** or a forensic scientist so its back to the Slipknot boiler suit. I'm gonna get a proper mask too like Crunch 90's 'cos my full faced lid is starting to look filthy. The stuff gets everywhere! It has coated the whole interior of my cellar & I've only done two lumps & one frame plus some little bits. Got me first gig though fellas. A mate wants the frame done on his slabside Gixer but he wants it done in situ 'cos its a retouch. Jeez I hope I don't ding his paint - he's a beast! I'm going to have to insist on removing the tank in case my DTs kick in...
