I wasn’t very well when I was young and ended up being sick, didn’t like it. Was sick a few weeks ago, still didn’t like it 😉
I knew Richie back then, and he was renowned for travelling to Maxi Muppets meets in far flung places on SH125s he'd ridden mega mileages on.

The PCX was hyped up when introduced. He took one for a long test ride, didn't like it, and continued to ride SH125s, and other 125s/110s, putting in a lot of miles.

Diesel Dave bought one of the first PCXs sold in the UK, and again didn't like it.

I might like them, but respect Richie and Dave's opinions.

In 44 years of riding on the road, and owning over 100 bikes, I've never had a BMW. They're marvellous machinery, and I'm glad that others love and ride them.

I respect their opinion, but despite many attempts, I've never found one I like.

It is what it is. ;)
now doing the rides/miles on suzuki address 110 uk.
had 2 bwm,s in the past a cs1000cc in smoked red,and a k100rs,both broke down in a big way.no more.

Off to Helsinki in a week and a half on the PCX125. There’ll be a few days of 330 miles but I can honestly say that the PCX is definitely up for that distance, and with a tank range of up to 240 miles then less stopping for fuel.

Will update later 👍

My mate Les has a new PCX arriving next week, replacing the Forza 350 which he loved but it was a bit heavy, he is 88.

The Quadro Qooder is going up on eBay soon so that will leave him with the PCX and Navi although he is threatening to buy a new Piaggio 530 MP3 as he thinks the reverse will make it easier to manoeuvre than the Qooder. We know from experience that it's pointless trying to dissuade him, at his age he gains as much pleasure from owning bikes as riding them, he does love the Navi though and enjoys riding that.

This is why I couldn’t swap the PCX. An 8.1 litre tank means a range of 250 miles.
Perfect for touring.

I’ve been working on a new project to fit some hard panniers on the PCX.

It only really needs it when you are camping as otherwise you have to put a large bag on the back seat and heading into shops and places in Europe I feel a little uneasy that my camping stuff could get pinched.

Using some Givi pannier brackets from an XL125v I cobbled and bodged a few brackets and got a rear bar welded to stabilise.

The result is actually really nice, I now have 46 litres in the top box, 2 x 22 litre side panniers and 30 litres under the seat… that’ll do nicely.

Now if we can have a bit more of that orange glow in the sky I can test out my setup.
