Re: Honda 110i Wave.
Sorry not got a clue as i have never owned a Lifan of any type.Bogger wrote:How does it compare against a 110 Lifan Steve? Any idea?

I am convinced it will better the 110cc conversions on the OE engine though.
The improvements are related to the combination of FI, 4 speed and different engine power characteristics. Mr H has done it again getting it all perfectly matched
As of course he had previously done (a good few years ago) on on the 12v C90

Should make for an interesting opportunity to compare on the way to Wales.stevew wrote:Sorry not got a clue as i have never owned a Lifan of any type.Bogger wrote:How does it compare against a 110 Lifan Steve? Any idea?

That screen is a Puig one but it's available in two heights. I got the smaller as I have an aux deflector for the top but if you don't have that I suggest the bigger (higher) one. About £60 I think. eBay is your friend and don't be afraid of ordering it from mainland Europe. Often cheaper but a 4 - 5 day delivery.

Re: Honda 110i Wave.
I can chip in, having both a 110 Wave (2017 model) and a Lifan 110 powered bike.Bogger wrote:How does it compare against a 110 Lifan Steve? Any idea?

The 110 Wave has more lower end torque, noticeable but not huge, and that's likely because the longer stroke (55.6 mm vs. 50 mm).
The 110 Lifan I have (I've had two), isn't nearly as smooth as the Honda in terms of shifting, but durability hasn't been a big problem for me. Granted though, my Lifan is a 2016, and pre 2016 models I've seen often have bad 3rd gears after a few thousand km.
In my preference, I like the long stroke 110 (genuine Honda) a lot more over the Lifan 110 for a commuter because of the extra torque, but since engine mounts aren't the same though, unfortunately without cutting the frame up on a Cub/C90, you can't drop one in if it's post 2006 MY.
