Stevew I read that Innova/Wave have 10mm thread .Just checked mine locking nut turns anti clock wise to lock. Can,t unscrew mirrors without removing screen and thats a pain .Have been looking for the small tank solution everywhere, best result came from German Innova site .Small cylindrical tank behind seat plumbed into tank filler cap with breather .You could cut rear of seat off ,like Mongolian Innovas, rack in its place and tank on top .But you wouldn,t have a locked fuel tank

The small Honda stationary engine GS tank holds 3 litres ,I have a spare.
Has the tank got a neck inside to stop you filling it up to the top ? the tank is flat on top so you could get a lot more in than the 3.7 l stated .

Re: Wave / Innova FI extra tank capacity
Yup it has so I will be doing the hole punching thing !!
But further on down the line I would like to do something more permanent like I have on the Cub.
Main problem is that it is FI not carbed. Therefore there is a (necessary) high pressure fuel pump in the OE tank to feed the FI system. It isn't possible just to tee in !!
The German Cub (Innova/Wave) forum has been interesting but they all appear to be mechanical and electrical geniuses and I'm just one step up from a hammer and adjustable spanner man
My thinking cap on well and truly on but I know for sure that I am going to need practical help from my forum friends

Re: Wave / Innova FI extra tank capacity
Second tank in the top box, pump to refill the original tank, just needs some holes punching in the top of the tank and a couple of elbow fittings.
Simple push-n-hold button to activate the pump (from bitter experience; don't use a normal switch) so you have to hold it in to operate the pump.
Tank inside the 'box for the ferry and outside afterwards. 10 litres is more then enough for any adventure bar 24 hour record attempts.

Why do you need an electrical pump to refill the OE tank? Won't gravity do it ?

Re: Wave / Innova FI extra tank capacity
Yes - very slowly......
Slow enough for you to forget the tap; flood the bike tank, spill over the hot engine and HT lead, catch fire and blow up.
It would work beautifully if you employ a float valve.
