Looks crackin', especially for what you've spent on it. :)

Ours is a little slower than my C90, both in top speed and as regards acceleration from a standing start. At certain speeds though, like accelerating from a 20 mph limit to 40 mph it catches up a bit.

Brilliant through Brighton traffic though with those 10" wheels. It's like a greased whippet on amphetamines.

Have fun! :)

I've still got a few odds and ends to do to the scooter.

Something I need to sort out is the look of the front forks as they need the silver paint redone, I'll get that sorted after I give them a good rub down.

It's certainly looking much more presentable after a wash and quick clean up.

Just need to think about whether or not I need that bendix for the starter - decisions, decisions

Our front forks weren't bad. However I did see the potential for scabbiness.

A pair of MX fork gaiters from WEmoto took care of that. :D

Now that's an idea.

I'll need to look them up.

I was just thinking of a rattle can from poundland but there's much more effort involved than slipping those gaiters over!

Will need to get an insurance quote sorted out and an MOT booked soon.

I think an MOT for a bike is ridiculous. Never ridden an MOT'd bike for 20+ years.

No need for an MOT in either Florida or Hong Kong ;-)

Talking of which, there is a slight bit of movement at the back wheel. Not sure if it is a worn bearing or if there is meant to be a little bit of play?

Is there any play at all on yours?

The scooter had done hardly any miles since last MOT, so I can't imagine it wore out that quickly.

A tiny bit, yes. If I remember correctly it did have the smallest bit of play when we first rescued it, and I chose to see what happened. It obviously didn't get any worse. :D

Yes it's not much play at all but to be honest I wouldn't expect to feel any play.

Just concerned from an MoT perspective really.

I was on Facebook last night and found a guy who was breaking a 2005 Ludix - he's a breaker and he had a rear mudguard for one. He quoted me 25 quid for it - I advised him that you could get a brand new one for 28 with postage and there was another one online for £12.50 used with postage.

Seemed quite pissed off - not sure why breakers still expect to get almost new prices for parts that are used....it's the same with the local car breakers yard here, you can get the parts new for less than they want for rusted old junk! ;)

Saw a 2010 Kymco Agility RS50 for sale on the local Gumtree today for £150, thought it can't be that bad in such a short space of time but there's not one panel on it that is intact!

Even the front light was smashed!

Had less than 6000km on it as well - quite a size for a 50cc scooter as well, makes the Ludix look tiny!

Ours has gone through 5 M.O.Ts to date with that slight amount of play, plus it hasn't got any worse. No other signs of it being a knackered bearing either. Yours may be perfectly OK.

Yes, I've seen used Ludix spares at ridiculous prices but bargains are still around. One of the casualties of ours being stood outside for 5 years before I resurrected it was that a couple of years ago the rear shock bust a seal and lost its oil.

Luckily a used one was available from a decent breaker on ebay for less than £20 including delivery.
