Different exhaust pipes, the Mash has a more angular double bend to the top ...and different front mudguard are two of the visible differences
Are you sure?

I suspect the shineray and the mash are built at the same place to slightly different specs,(and quality)
dependant on emissions, and market styling preferences ...
Looking at those exhausts where the downpipe goes horizontal, the Mash has a slight bulge indicating it has catalytic converters in there...As you say, different specs for each market...

I still suspect the bikes are the same base units and that Mash has merely changed some of the cosmetics of the Shineray XY400 to suit the Euro market.

Call me a cycnic of course ;)

Suppose what we are really saying that if Mash are claiming to have had the bike made to their spec, is that really true or are they trying to play down the "made in China" bit ? Loads of the Chinese bike importers claim to have had some input into the design/spec. My slightly cynical outlook is that they have it sorted for Euro Emissions (which the manufacturers HAVE to do anyway to sell here) then make that claim, mainly for marketing reasons

Still like it though ;)

Remember the last nice-ish Chinese, the Honley 250 ADV bike, went down by £500 after being here for a few months. The original price was just too high.

Anyway the next one to come in is the WK 400 Adventure styled bike. They are getting the plan better and better :) :)

Pile it high, sell it cheap is a great way to build up a fan base.

There are numerous motoring icons that broke into the market using this method.

Was reading about Huoniao 125's and ended up down the garden path reading about the Mash 400 which then also led to somebody pointing out they were made by Shineray.

Pretty good markup on those bikes - especially, if you look at the Chinese pricing here:

(18,000 Yuan is around £1900)

These SS50 style clones with 110cc engines look pretty retro:

Not too bad for only £320, especially when you think about how much an old SS50 costs these days
