Then of course Chimp, if your riding at Fireblade speeds that may well be....but today, pottering around the Worcestershire country lanes for three hours at around 30mph or less I don't think so. The boots are safety boots as well and keep my feet warmer than my previous....eeeerrrr...wellys!

There's truth in that, but bike boots have extra features specific to bike boots like abrasion resistance, ankle protection, ease of removal, crush resistance and the design stops your foot being pulled down and back on itself if dragged, to stop ankle bone damage.

If you get hit and/or dragged and end up under a vehicle or crushed against something, I'd want bike specific boots instead of riggers, and rigger instead of fashion boots and fashion boots above trainers in that order....! Your speed is only relevant in any way if you cause the accident and come off......and don't get hit by another faster party.

Nothing to with fireblade speeds bill, as mender says I like something with proper protection designed for riding bikes. Rigger boots are designed to be easily removable, as for wellies.....each to their own I guess. 30mph is still more than enough to do lasting damage.

Now agreed a deal on the MZ I've been after for years, will need to collect it so may be able to offer a decent delivery cost on the Vox if needed.

Just noticed your post Mender/Geoff! It appears I am back to holding the Vox flag myself again! Had a lovely ride around the lanes this Thursday, The Vox is great for 'Easy Riders' and the petrol consumption is amazing....

I am still riding and enjoying my Vox here in South Devon. The Vox is proving to be a good workhorse and I have just clocked 5000km on mine.

I haven't seen too many Vox's on the road in this area and likewise there don't seem to be many C90s. Mind you it would be nice to get a bit of decent weather for once to make riding that bit more pleasurable.

What's the top speed?, I have been looking at getting one.

I haven't taken mine to the limit but it is good for 50 mph on the flat. Here in Devon it is quite hilly and it has no trouble holding a reasonable speed up them. With the cost of good second hand c90s going up the vox makes a tempting proposition.

That's the problem I'm finding, a good c90 is hard to find, and finding one within a reasonable distance to home. The only thing with the Vox is that they don't seem to hold their value like the c90/Honda wave/innova, going to be looking at the Vox and the Honda wave later on. £1374 for the Vox and £1599 for pre registered Wave. The Honda to me seems a no brainer but until I look at them in the flesh it's hard to say. I am planning on keeping the bike until its scrap, 15 years maybe, but I'm going to be doing my bike test and I feel I might want a bigger bike which is not the road I was going down as I am selling our second car and getting a cheap to buy/run commuter bike as the cost of running 2 cars and having 2 children etc etc is really hitting us in the pocket!. The biker bug might get me and end up with a CB500 or similar.....
