Not long to go now!BenB wrote:Hahahahahaha!!! Newt on the rampage! Perhaps we should mark this date and everyone's views, then return to the discussion in 3 years when said bikes have done 15,000 miles. That way we give them a fair hearing and Newt doesn't lose more hair in the meantime.

Re: RIDERS CUB DISCUSSION
Well, I started mine up after sitting in a cold damp shed for the past couple of months and battery was in fine form - had the engine turning over at a great rate of knots!
Didn't want to fire up at all at first...
Then it would fire and die...on choke with no throttle.
The slightest twist of the throttle would make it die..
No hint of ignition at all with the choke off and twisting the throttle.
Then after about 10 minutes, the bugger kept chugging on with the choke only and all was well once more...
Noticed that the rear light/brake light isn't working and the rear nearside indicator has stopped working too...might just be a bad connection.

Definitely sounds like a bit of damp has got into the electrics somewhere.gtd65 wrote:Well, I started mine up after sitting in a cold damp shed for the past couple of months and battery was in fine form - had the engine turning over at a great rate of knots!
