Correction: You seldom get more than what you pay for, and often you don't even get what you pay for.

£26 is a fair price for a skinny moped tyre. A 195/65-R15 top brand car tyre costs £52

Your right but I think bike tyres haven't moved anything like car tyres in terms of durability.

My van's only on it's second set of tyres and it's close to 100,000 miles.

It's not exactly very 'green' to throw away tyres every 3 to 6000 miles just because you have worn 2mm off the outer tread. Anywhere else in the world and it would be down to the cords before replacement was even considered.

All down to marketing and economics in the tyre business.

^^Exactly, lots of money goes to the middleman and co. I just replaced the front tyre on a Wave 110 and it was the equivalent of £8, Yokohama brand made locally. Cheaper Korean versions are £3.75 at the current exchange rate.

Just back from an 82 mile bimble. No motorways just A and B roads between Sevenoaks and Box Hill. Works out at 145 mpg,...............I'm astounded. Better than the cub.

Just to check 82 miles used 2.59 litres. Brim to brim.
Think I worked it out correctly. Maths was never my best subject

Think I've killed it !!!
Started by making all sorts of noise on the A130/A13 junction so reduced to 40mph and kept it there all the way home. Stopped in a garage and i really didn't think it would go again but it started up OK. Sounded like a real bag of nails. Got quieter going over the up side of the Dartford bridge and now sounds like in the video.
The first noise was knocking and rattling together but it's quietened down now :? :? :? :? :?
Any one got any idea's??

not a good day!

The big end the little end, the main bearings, the camchain and tensioner, the piston and rings, valve guides, and whatever elsee I can think of are fooked.
