a big plea for information!!!
hello all, i have obviously had a very senior moment and have bought myself a honda sh50 for a cheap run about whilst i fully restore my c70 `margret`but the problem is that it is painfully slow at the moment and seems to slow down as the more i go along .i carnt find any good infomation as how to speed it up??? if at all this can be done??? i bought it cos it was a honda it seems it is the rogue honda:)

you could clean the carb and check the tank for dirt.
Do your valves, prob never been done.
As for all 4 strokes, bar the c50? can not really be made to go faster. They are normally tuned for what they are intended for.

have done carb and tank buddy, it is a two stroke though so does not have valves i think?

i believe its a two stroke, so your first port of call is the exhaust, it could be blocked. after that depending on how long its sat around for or mileage, is the crankcase seals.

Alan !! Sh50 is a 4 stroke !!
There not that tunable and as a restricted moped that is intended
you can fit a 70cc top and re - jet the carb but I wish you luck doing it legally I spent ages as a trader trying to do this by the book and DVLA were useless !!

That is one old Sh then Fowlers Honda parts lists goes back to 193/4 and shown a 4 stroke engine for all SH50 !

SH50 Info, spec sheet,
They were well known for coking up the exhausts, and also snapping the exhaust studs when trying to remove it.
Take the exhaust off and place your lips on to the gasket end, there should be not restriction when blowing down it.

50ccNL used to list performance exhaust for them ..italian engine ,also known as the scoopy ,city express and sky.
