Was offered one last year from a dealer mate of mine, 52 plate i think, took it in PX.....and even one side of the frame was rotted through so bad you could fit your fist through and touch the petrol tank.....to be honest have found the brazilian ones M/N reg onwards a lot less forgiving when it comes to neglect, just crap metal and thin paint....a sad finish in production for such a worthy little bike... :(

Mine was an N reg cub and everything seemed ok.

Haha. Yeah when you strip one down you realise why they rot!! On a later bike, if you look at where the frame is welded under the fuel tank its painfully thin metal. Where mine had rotted at the back end you could see how thin a skin these bikes have and the metal is not much thicker than paper!! lol

Guess it like anything in life, there's a bit of luck involved with a bike, but most importantly what kind of life its had. If its been well looked after then it shouldnt rot. Trouble is these bikes rot in places covered by plastic panels so looked after or not its a lottery!!

very true just on with a L reg cub 90 my self, there was'nt much left after sand blasting, half the inner mudguard was gone, :o and also where loom goes thro at top of frame, all i did was cut some tin to shape, and mate at work welded it together for the price of fish and chips :)
