BLIMEY !!!
Have a look at this, It has already sold but ...THE PRICE !! Lovely bike though, If it is all original and has had everything done that the vendors says it has then I can well believe why it has sold for that much :

Re: BLIMEY !!!
A genuine time warp bike though...Even the fairing brackets are still shiny silver....A lot of money but almost certainly unique.....I wouldn't trust the oil though....It is probably 'golden' because the suspended detritus has settled out and is sitting as a sludge on the crankcase floor, waiting to be stirred back up....

Re: BLIMEY !!!
Shows how provenance/history and a story can make a big difference. It Is indeed a nice 90...
Currently there is this with about an hour to go
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 1576773589 at £740, I can see it's not as good, but will be interesting to see what it makes.

Re: BLIMEY !!!
Hmm, well if it has provenance i.e log book, old tax discs ect the new owner MAY get a V5C . It may have to go through the owners club to obtain dating cert . I would be gutted paying all that and have to go through all thatkrazy kev wrote:its not even on the DVLA databasegpo746 wrote:Have a look at this, It has already sold but ...THE PRICE !! Re: BLIMEY !!!
good luck to them if they wanna pay that ,I think its way too much, unless you own a museum,
I wouldn't want it, not for that price, , as it was not turned for a long while, I,d rather have a used one, unless I wasn't using it...
seen too many engines stood, and rust marks on the exposed parts where the oil rolls off lessens the chance of an engine lasting,
as for the history, who is the doctor? is he famous or something?????
how many owners? if theres no v5?
how did he know the doctor owned it for all this time if theres no v5,
there must be the old v5 with it??
the history is easy made up,
not saying it is though, it LOOKS pretty good, and probably is...
but the price? a good looking bike helped hike it, but I suspect the cleverly written write up added a grand
and 1974 tyres? good looking condition or not, nope, wouldn't use em,
congratulations to the seller,
I might ask him to sell mine for me

Re: BLIMEY !!!
btw, before anyone starts with "of course its worth it, look at all these other high price examples, "
I meant, I think its not worth that,my opinion is not shared by some others,
especially those selling them,
I think "classic"(and some custom) vehicle markets can be a greedy marketplace, often artificially hiked,
instead of priced by demand, quality or rareness
